I've Succesfully got a map loaded and I'm now trying to capture an area. I draw the rectangle out and then nothing seems to happen. I seem to remember once the capture box is drawn you could turn off the map and it leaves the captured area behind? Has anyone been successful with this in V14?
Turning the map off leaves me with a rectangle with nothing in it. Maybe the map isn't the right type? I have used the 'set location' button and got my gps coordinates in there and done it that way.
Cheers
Re: Loading maps and creating capture area.
#2Going one step further I've mapped out a field which I am putting a little plan together for. I have used a GPS app and made points around it's perimeter and I can export the data to pdf, shp, and so on.
If I try bringing in the shp file I get asked for a coordinate system, no matter what I type in there it tells me it doesn't exist.
I have successfully done it if I convert the kml data using a website and bring that in, but the coordinates are all off when overlaid to a map view.
I've used a website to get my specific long and kat coordinates and selected a coordinate system that the website stated I was in, and that then throws off the recorded points even more.
Any help would be appreciated here because something isn't working out right and I can't figure out what.
