Whats the diff

I am looking into intellicadd.

I have noticed different companis who supply Intellicad. eg. Cadopia, CMS, and others. Are they the same product but with different packaging. Or are there difference between the software. Should I be trying each one to see which is the best.

Thanks

Basically the same, but different co's do additional work and some of that is returned to the pool occasionally. Price might be an indication of how much value one has over another, but it's really hard to find out. Another guide might be how much notice they seem to take & acknowledgement of bugs etc, on their websites.

I have tried a few TRIAL versions of IntelliCAD...

CADopia, BricsCAD and CMS.

The CMS demo version seems to have the most bugs so far. I have encountered problems saving user defined hatches and displaying attributes(ATTDISP) that are fixed + hidden. I don't know if these problems are particular to the demo version as they may have been fixed in the full versions.

CADopia version had the above attribute display problem whilst both CADopia and BricsCAD were able to save and reload drawings with used defined hatches.

Seems like BricsCAD have done some development & debugging of thier own.

The TRIM command does not seem to work on isocircles in isometric grid mode. I Tried a simple cube with isocircles on each face but was unable to trim the rear hidden isocircles
using the front isocircles as the cutting edges. Any one had a similar problem? I worked around it using the BREAK command but this seems to take 6 seperate operations.

CMS IntelliCAD is well priced but unless the bugs are resolved promptly I am reluctant to purchase a full copy.
