I think I've stumbled on an incompatibility with AutoCAD.
I want to use a < symbol with underline to mean less than or equal to.

In AutoCAD, I type in a text override such as y37%%u<%%u<>, and I get the y37 and the less than or equal to symbol, followed by the value of the dimension (e.g. 138).

In IntelliCAD I get y37138%u<>.

Apparently AutoCAD checks the next character after "<" to see if it is ">"
and only then prints the dimension value. IntelliCAD apparently doesn't do this check.

Is there a work around to get this to print correctly?[/u]

Hello dr_facto,

To create the effect you want just type "y37%%u<%%u". This will give you the y37 and the less than or equal to symbol. Then type the value of the dimension. Something like "y37%%u<%%u138"

The work-around does make the dimension look correct.

It has its limitations, though. When I export the file as a .DXF file, and open it in AutoCAD, these dimensions don't display correctly. I see the less-than symbol underlined, followed by %%U and the numbers I entered in the work around.

I know that IntelliCAD .DWG files are not compatible with AutoCAD, but it does seem that the DXF files should be interchageable.

It would be nice if there could be a fix to the underlying problem. Is there a way to bring this to the attention of the programmers? It would not be a complex code change to get the string parsed correctly.

IntelliCAD DWG files are compatible with AutoCAD. The provided solution is a workaround, not a truly solution and, because of this, it may work differently in IntelliCAD and in AutoCAD. However, it will be fixed in future releases.
