I use Intellicad 2001 for mechanical design and documentation but also need to use it for technical illustration. Intellicad works great for design and documentation but when it comes to technical illustration, it really falls on it's butt. I need to be able to produce clean 3d views of objects much like you would see in a Chiltons auto repair manual but I'm unable to even come close because of the lack of boolean operations on 3d objects. I discovered two VERY MUCH NEEDED commands in Intellicad (UNION and SUBTRACT) but they are not yet supported. Does ANYONE know when these commands will be supported in the software? Also, is it possible to produce a plane that has more than 4 points? MESH is my enemy because it convolutes the the drawing and makes it WAY too "busy". I have to clean up my illustrations by rotating the entire model so that it appears isometric in the plan view then I hide line and flatten the drawing (I work on a copy of the model of course) and trace over the flattened image using another layer. When I'm done I delete the original model (because it's now flattened and worthless) and I'm left with an almost presentable drawing but as you can see, a lot of labor is involved. Does anyone have an easier way to produce clean working assembly drawings?

If there was a save2d command or something that would save the 3d view as a 2d drawing, that would really help.

Intellicad doesn't support Boolean objects. So that is why you are getting the mesh. So that is you number one problem.
