A guy at work was wondering something and I couldn't answer him. So this is the question he had. We make all of our parts blocks. THe thing is that we would like a way to put info about the parts in the block with out it being visible. LIke threads, o-ring size, Etc. If anybody can help me out or have suggestions please let me know. It would be greatly appreciated.

My first thought would be to use Attributes,
these could be set to constant & invisible what ever suits your method of working, then you could view the data later. Also,if you needed too, you could then Extract the data stored within the block (attributes) to a parts list (BOM) on the drawing via VBA, or to a spreadsheet, Database etc etc.

For similar pourposes, I've defined blocks with entities belonging to different layers, so information of a block could be displayed or turned off.

Thanks guys for yall replies I will try both to see what I like. One more question. If I insert a block with attributes then block the part and the attribute block together. Is anything going to happen to the attribute block ? I don't work with attributes to much how do I make them invisible again ?
