Drawing Backup files

#1
I know Intellicad Backs up drawing. I believe it is called Autosave or something like that. My computer locked up and I didn't save the drawing for like an hour. My autosave is set for 10 minutes. How do I use this file to back up my drawing ? I am sorry I am new.

Hi Redliner,
Don't worry about being new, we all had to start somewhere and what seems like an easy question to a long time user, can put the fear of god into a novice.

The default extension for an Intellicad Backup file is SV$. To reuse this file, you must rename the extension to DWG.

When renaming the file, make sure you pick the *.sv$ that was created closest to when your PC crashed.

I hope that helps you out,
Regards,

Yeah I guess you are right about that. Hopefully in time I will become like you guys. I understand how to name the file just that I can't see the file extensions to change it. I am sure there is some toggle switch or something that I don't have clicked. So if yall could tell me how to fix this problem that would be great.

I understand what the problem with that is. In your Windows Explorer. You have to go to the Tools pull down. Then click on Folder options. Then you will have to click on the View tab. Make sure that Hide file extensions for known file types button is not checked. If it is uncheck it and hit apply. Then you should see all the file extensions.
