how can i save my drawings as picture files so i can send them to people who dont have icad?

A common form of sending drawings to non-CAD people is pdf.
You can find a free pdf writer software at
http://www.pdf995.com
After installing the software, just print a drawing using the PDF995 printer and a pdf file will be created.

Even better than pdf995 is pdfCreator.
pdf995 is free (sort of) as in free beer.
pdf995 is Adware. pdf995 is not really free software.
pdfCreator is free as in freedom. With pdfCreator you get all the freedom that is associated with software licensed under the Gnu Public Licence (GPL)

PDF is great because it keeps the drawing scale, and it can be printed later as it would be printed directly from ICAD.
