I have been in the field for a couple of years and almost every drafter that I meet can't really spell. I for one can't really spell all that good either. Is this a trait of draftsmen ? Or is it just were I live people just can't spell ?

I know that the people in my office can't spell at that great that is including myslef. I wonder if it is a trait of draftspersons. I also see it in Engineers.

My spelling sucks. Thank god for spellcheckers! Also, since I moved into CAD all those years ago, my hand writing has, well how can I put this, it is terrible. It was never that great before, now though, it is a scrawl. I suppose there will come a day when kids cannot write as everything they need to write will be done on computer....

hehe.
my spelling was so bad that one of my english teachers wanted me held back. fortunately for me my science and math teachers came to the rescue.

the deal was that i'd buy a full size dictionary and carry it around for the rest of my life. that was in 1979. it's currently on the shelf to my left.
:-)
no kidding.
