esnap markers always on.

Is it just me or do others find the esnap markers "always on", even with esnap off, a bit frustrating. When I toggle F3 I would the markers on when esnap is on and off when esnap is off. Maybe I'm missing something.
Thanks.

Let me clarify further.
First off I'm making the assumption that esnap and osnap are essentially the same thing; the former is Intellicad, the latter Autocad.

Ignoring fly-overs for a monent, I find the osnap icons don't display correctly if more than one osnap is selected. Regardless of combination I always get the endpoint & quadrant icons. The osnap function works correctly but the icons display incorrectly. So my first question is:
Is there a way to turn them off and still have osnaps running?

The fly-over osnaps are the way to go, but they seem to be always on. I'm constantly checking the status line to see if esnap is on or off before I pick an entity.
In essence:
I do not want any osnap icons or fly-overs markers to appear if osnap (esnap) is toggled "Off".
I do not want any osnap icons to appear and I do want fly-overs markers to appear if osnap (esnap) is toggled "On".

I'm using Intellical 4PE+ (4.0.16) on XP, Athalon 1800.
Thanks.

Turn the ensap off as usual. To also turn off the fly-overs (whether esnap if on or off) go into the flyover snap settings under esnap settings and disable flyover.

My esnap works fine when flyover markers are disabled. What is the exact sequence that you are following to enable and disable the settings?

I can't get the flyovers to work like they do in acad. If esnap (osnap) is off, so should be the flyover markers. Instead they try to snap to a entity which is impossible since esnap is off. This is very confusing. Maybe there is something wrong with my setup.
