orthogonal didn't work in z axis

why does orthogonal does not work in z axis when i view the elevation ortho works only in x and y axis
is there something wrong in my setting

arki_emc,
I assume you have a 3D model and you are looking at say a front view by selecting View-->Look From-->Front from the pull-Down Menu.
When you activate this command you are still in World Coordinate System (wcs), therefore Orthogonal is in wcs.
To change this view you need to use the User Coordinate System (ucs).
Type in ucs then press <Enter> at the command prompt and select v then press <Enter>. This sets your view to user and will accept Orthogonal.
To return to the wcs type in ucs <Enter> and select w then <Enter>.
