I am trying the demo version but can't seem to fillet a line to an ellipse...any suggestions@

Also, drew a simple cube in isometric with an isocicle on easch of the 6 faces. Then tried to trim the rear face isocircles to produce a holed cube effect. However, I could select the front isocircles as the trim edges but then couldn't select the rear ones for the operation. Got around it using the BREAK command but it seems to take 6 seperate operations. Again...any suggestions?

Are there some settings I need to configure for these commands.

In earlier versions you could only trim/extend to ellipses if they are created with polylines (see drawing settings entity creation under ellipses). With latest version I believe it will trim to true ellipses (version 5.1 PE)
