When I try to use the spell check, I get a message saying it failed to initialize. Does this thing work or do I have an installation problem?

I see that no one has ever tried it. Usless feature, I guess.

Glad to see someone else has tried it. Must be a bug.

All,
This is not a bug, it just has never been supported or enabled by the IntelliCAD Technology Consotium (ITC).
When Visio released IntelliCAD 98 the spell check formed part of IntelliCAD and it was a Third Party Software License agreement.
There never seemed to be a great demand for this feature and the ITC didn't pursue it.
This kept the ability to distribute a free trial version.
I think there were greater concerns such as the undo bug to resolve and the command remained in the menu without the software to support it.

Thanks for the clarification John. I didn't know what to think. I agree that there are other more pressing issues but if they do get around to adding a spell check, I won't complain.

In the meantime, there is a shareware program called Wordweb which I find really useful. Just highlight a word (in Entprop in the case of Icad) and click on WW, wherever you are working in the computer.
Not as extensive as a really good dictionary but it has thesaurus and language choices, and faster than looking it up.
