Is there a way to change xref paths through LISP?

I moved five years worth of drawings and now all the paths are screwed up.

I am trying to write a LISP routine to change the path but I can't find where the path is stored.

According to the DXF code specification (from AutoDesk), it should be stored with the block table entry. But it does not appear to be there.

Anyone know where it can be found?

Never mind. I figured out what I was doing wrong. I was using
(tblsearch "BLOCK" blknam)

When I should have been using
(tblobjname "BLOCK" blknam)

By the way, it is interesting to note that if you strip the path off the xrefs, they will be found as long as they are in the same directory as the drawing that references them. Then you can move them anywhere, and not have problems with disappearing xrefs.

It seems to me that it would be better to not store the xref paths unless required. But I have found no other way to do this other than to strip them off using LISP.

Anyone else know a way to avoid the xref paths?

This is interesting ... looks like 2 years ago the XREF path problem existed and is still a problem .... does CMS ever read there own forum?
