snapping to reference drawings is more slower than snapping to normal other entities in drawing... (ICAD6.1.19.1 SE demo, is this bug?

It has been years since I had access to the source code, but here is what I believe is causing that problem.
When you snap to an entity, IntelliCAD first selects only the nearby entities to work with, then calculates all the end points, intersections, etc (whatever you are trying to snap to) then finds the closest one to the pick point.
But when one of those nearby entities is inside a block, xref or hatch pattern, IntelliCAD will include ALL of the entities inside the block, xref or hatch pattern and instead of calculating possible snap points for a handful of entities, it could be calculating possible end points, intersections, etc for many thousands of entities.
So here is my workaround.
Reduce the size of xref drawings.
Don't use hatch patterns or don't use IntelliCAD 6.0 or 6.1

Can you be more specific as to the exact Version of ICAD where this works perfectly?
