I am drawing a single line pipe system. I tried to draw a 90 elbow using an arc, along the z axis. This did not work. Any advice ?

Try changing the UCS to coincide with the same plane that the arc is being drawn on.

To anyone interested:

I have a very simple document on how to setup a basic 3D drawing that I use for my beginning 3D students. It simply gives directions on how to setup viewports and ucs's for a basic top-front-right layout. It also explains how to setup a isometric viewport. Nothing elaborate but helpful if you have tried 3D and been lost once you see the broken pencil.
I will be glad to send it to anyone who would care to email me. If there is enough response I will make a follow-up document on using the ucs's.
