Hi, I'm new to 3D CAD but have managed to create some quite impresive shapes. I've got stuck on how to create a 3D surface to cap off the end of an extrusion. My extrusion is quite a complex shape so the surface tools look like they will be hard work to fit the shape.

What I really want it to convert a Boundary hatch into a surface. Is this possible? If so how do I do it?

Boundary hatches only work on a XY plane. you can draw a hatch, and then locate it anywhere in the z axis, but it is still a XY plane entity.

If you ant a hatch in other plane, you must set the UCS in that plane, usins the UCS command and the 3point option, or rotating it in any axis.
